Lisa Herbig is sinds 1 januari 2022 als promovenda verbonden aan het Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) en het Duitsland Instituut Amsterdam. Haar onderzoek, dat mede mogelijk wordt gemaakt door Volkswagen Stiftung, concentreert zich op de impact die de COVID-19 pandemie heeft op draagvlak voor de Europese Unie. 123

Voorheen werkte Herbig mee aan het Viral Communication Project van de Sigmund Freud Universiteit in Berlijn. Binnen dit project wordt gekeken naar veranderingen in de publieke opinie in Duitsland gedurende de COVID-pandemie. Hierbij gaat het om uiteenlopende vraagstukken, waaronder het draagvlak voor preventieve maatregelen, vaccinatiebereidheid, het vertrouwen in politici en wetenschappers alsook complottheorieën.

Herbig studeerde Psychologie aan de Goethe Universiteit in Frankfurt en behaalde aan de Universiteit van Osnabrück een master Cross-Cultural Psychology. Tijdens haar bachelor studeerde zij ook een semester aan de Universiteit van Amsterdam.

Lisa Herbig is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR) of the University of Amsterdam and the Germany Institute Amsterdam (DIA) where she studies the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on support for the European Union.

Previously, Herbig has worked on the Viral Communication Project, which explored changes in public opinion through the course of the pandemic in Germany. Topics covered in the project included the support for preventive measures, vaccination willingness, trust in political and scientific actors as well as conspiracy beliefs.

Herbig holds a Master in Intercultural Psychology from Osnabrück University and a Bachelor in Psychology from the Goethe University Frankfurt. She studied for a semester at the University of Amsterdam.
