Duitsland werd ook in 2016 geconfronteerd met veel geweld door extreem-rechts. Zeker 692 mensen zijn vorig jaar verwond door extreem-rechtse daders, berekende de krant Der Tagesspiegel op basis van de maandelijkse cijfers die de bondsregering op aanvraag van Die Linke heeft verstrekt. Dit aantal zal volgens Der Tagesspiegel nog stijgen omdat nog niet alle cijfers vanuit de politie binnen zijn. In 2015 raakten volgens de voorlopige cijfers 691 mensen gewond, maar door alle latere meldingen steeg het aantal uiteindelijk naar 1150 gewonden. In 2016 telde de politie 12.503 rechts-extreme delicten. Hieronder vallen naast gewelddaden ook bedreigingen, vernielingen en haatzaaien. De politie telde in 2016 644 antisemitische delicten, 609 daarvan werden gepleegd door extreem-rechtse antisemieten. Acht mensen werden gewond door antisemitisch geweld. Lees meer bij Tagesspiegel

Dan wordt onderzocht uit welke hoek. Bijvoorbeeld: In 2016 zijn in de deelstaat Brandenburg 2163 politiek gemotiveerde delicten geregistreerd. 1664 daarvan politiek rechts gemotiveerd, 244 politiek links gemotiveerd, 38 politiek gemotiveerd geweld door buitenlanders en 217 konden niet ingedeeld worden.
